Tomura Shigaraki is arguably the most evil villain in the My Hero Academia universe, following in the footsteps of his imprisoned master, All For One. While many of his attacks against U.A High have been unsuccessful, he has tenaciously avoided capture and continued to be a serious threat to hero society.

As a dark reflection of Izuku Midoriya, Shigaraki has garnered the attention and adoration of many of the series's fans. To commemorate his tragic fall from grace and unconscionably wicked demeanor, they honor him with chilling fan arts to exemplify the nature of the character.

10 Evil Eye

One of the most nerve wracking moments of Shigaraki's entire villainous career is when he first appeared through a portal to confront Class 1-A during their training exercise. His derangement was as clear as his malice, with many of his minions precipitating his arrival.

Rodney Velchez references this dramatic entrance in their piece, with Shigaraki's blood red eye contrasting the cool colors of his face and hair. It would be the beginning of a long feud between the forces of good and evil and prove to the fledgling students that villainy was around every corner.

9 Helping Hand

When analyzing the character of Shigaraki, it is impossible to ignore his "Decay" quirk. Not only is it responsible for the threat he poses to the students, it is also his origin story, as he accidentally killed his own parents through its premature use (and was subsequently "adopted" by All For One).

Seren Sonlu depicts this through their intelligent usage of angling. With one hand outstretched, it is an excellent reference to the moment Tomura almost killed Tsuyu before Eraserhead's heroic intervention and All Might's arrival.

8 Back In Black

AriLeah_Art presents Shigaraki in a rare moment of rest. With his familiar hunch, his knees are bent as he examines the decay limning through his fingers.

Intriguingly, the hand on his face is a bright red much like his shoes in lieu of its traditionally white pigmentation. This is a reference to how he murdered his family, and given his rare moment of sincere contemplation, it's like that is what is on his mind. As villainous as Tomura may behave, he is ultimately a product of his circumstances ~ even if it does not absolve him of his actions.

7 Bad Things Come In Threes

Musetap depicts a trio of Himiko Toga, Dabi, and Tomura Shigaraki. In this piece, he has his familiarly lethal arm extended forward, foreboding power extending from his fingertips and evincing his formidability.

This piece is an intelligent reference to Shigaraki's leadership. While he may not have the charisma of his patron, All For One, he is not abusive toward his underlings like other criminal masterminds might be. This secures their allegiance to him, especially that of unstable allies such as Twice. The League of Villains is only as powerful as the one in charge of it.

6 Friend Of Shadows

Leow Guan Xian depicts another Shigaraki deep in contemplation. With many different pairs of hands folded in his lap, he stares into the abyss ~ one that has become all too familiar to the young man over his short life.

However, a presence lurks within it ~ specifically, that of Kurogiri, as indicated by its beady yellow eyes. It is an appropriate reference to the relationship the two villains have with one another, as they mutually guarantee each other's survival. Tomura derives plans and leads courageously, while Kurogiri provides transportation and a means of escape if his schemes fall through.

5 Ruggedness

sakimichan takes a unique approach to Shigaraki, one which deviates from his usual depiction. Instead of the withered, slender man we have seen him as, this re-imagination portrays him with tense abdominal muscles and pectorals to match them.

His huge, predatory smile entails the confidence such a change might bring him, and it would definitely enhance his skills with his quirk. Should he become more athletic, the reach and ability of his decay would only increase, rendering him an opponent far more lethal even than Stain.

4 Ready For Town

Shigaraki is not exclusively confined to villainous bunkers, a fact which Evil-Siren readily reminds us of. In one of his encounters with Deku, he sat beside him in public, bringing his fingers around his throat and informing him that should he make a sound, he could kill him at any time.

Though this may be more difficult to get away with now since Midoriya knows what to look for, it is nonetheless a terrifying prospect that could he be lurking around the corner at any moment With how expediently his work dooms its target, they would have little chance to beg for mercy.

3 Broken

The reason All For One was able to adopt Tomura was exclusively for the fact that the young boy was his own worst enemy. This broke down his self image and allowed his "benefactor" to reshape him in his likeness.

HideakiArtReal cleverly portrays this through the hands which are surrounding a petrified Tomura. They were all that remained of his former home, preserved by All For One and given to him as a "gift" so that he might never forget the mistakes he made.

2 Malevolence

Mayksarts captures a Tomura with an efficiently dark background. He is wearing his traditional outfit, long, dark clothing shrouding his entire body and his hands clutching his wry frame at various points.

Though much of his face is obscured, we can discern the blood eye eye protruding from between the grooves of the fingers on his face. This is an excellent way of conveying his intention without depicting much of his features and cleverly captures the character's malevolence without betraying his iconic aesthetics. Cool colors are contrasted against the warmth of his glare to create a galling result.

1 The Final Showdown

The story of My Hero Academia revolves around the progression of youth and ultimately fulfilling the roles of their predecessors. While this may be evident through Izuku Midoriya, this development is not exclusively for the heroes. Tomura Shigaraki follows a similar path ~ albeit one that is warped.

InsertSomethinAwesome gives us what will be their inevitably final battle, one which mirrors the clash between All Might and All For One. Regardless of outcome, one thing is certain about the impending duel ~ it will define the future of Japan and perception of its heroes forever.
